This year marks the 25th edition of the Mediterranean Day of Prison Health Units, an exceptional milestone that will gather experts from across Europe and beyond.

The program will address global and regional perspectives on prison health, with sessions including:

  • Global prison health challenges – Robert Paterson (ICRC, Geneva)

  • Civil society engagement in Lebanon – Elie El Aaraj (MENAHRA, Beirut)

  • Hepatitis C in prison: a collective fight for inclusion – Thomas Seyler (EUDA, Lisbon)

  • Innovation in detention: tele-echography robots in prison healthcare

  • Oral health strategies in detention (Occitanie experience)

  • Youth, rap, and cannabis: decoding messages and building dialogue

  • Health literacy in prison – insights from a European research project

Hosted at the Phare de la Méditerranée in Palavas-les-Flots, the event will be a unique space for reflection, sharing best practices, and envisioning the future of prison health.
